Here at DDDawgs Kennels Beagles are our latest addition. It happened totally by accident but turned out to be a blessing.
Here is a brief explanation as to how Beagles came into our lives.
My wife and kids wanted a couple of lap dogs as the American Staffordshire Terriers were way too heavy. I did my research and decided on 2 Pedigree Standard Schnauzers.
BIG MISTAKE
They turned into an over active, high maintenance troublesome pair. My wife and kids were not impressed with my selection of lap dog. My Amstaffs were really not happy that these 2 Schnauzers were here. Peace and Harmony left the second they arrived.
After 12 months a family meeting was in order. The decision was made Schnauzers had to go. I advertised them straight away but was having no luck selling them as I had to tell potential owners the truth as to why they were being sold.
Just when I thought they were here for EVER I got the strangest phone call.
I had some one that wanted my Schnauzers but she was broke. After several calls she mentioned she had a Pedigree Beagle she wanted to sell and if I could hold them for her un till it sold. Then she mentioned she bred cattle and desperately wanted the Schnauzers to work on her farm.
I wanted out of these Schnauzers and she wanted out of her Beagle so a deal was struck.
I got one steer that we called Bubba
And we got one Pedigree Female Beagle called Tilly
Now little did we know that prior to this arrangement Tilly was mated. They thought it was a failure and never took but were they wrong....
She was growing fast and an ultrasound showed she was pregnant.
And all of a sudden we were Beagle breeders and have never looked back....
